Guess who just learned how to make gifs!

THIS MOI!
Remember the HOLD STILL movie, which we was a Thing We Are Ridiculously Excited About a few months back? Well we are STILL excited, but, if possible, we are MORE excited, because not only did author extraordinaire Nina LaCour reach her funding goal using Kickstarter (a multitude of thanks to all who contributed), but also we just received word that the movie has officially wrapped shooting! To celebrate, Nina has interviewed Ana Szarky, who starred in the movie as protagonist Caitlin, on her blog. Click the link to read all about it!
The Crowdsourced Funding of a YA Movie - The Atlantic Wire
Awesome article about the Kickstarter campaigns that funded the movies for Nina LaCour’s HOLD STILL and K.L. Going’s FAT KID RULES THE WORLD! We were pretty chuffed to see our humble Tumblr mentioned in there as well. :)
Those of you who’ve been following us for a while know the love we have for the amazing book trailer Nina LaCour and her friends created for her latest novel, THE DISENCHANTMENTS, which came out in February. But THE DISENCHANTMENTS was not Nina’s first book, nor was the trailer for THE DISENCHANTMENTS her first book trailer. In fall of 2009, Nina’s debut novel, HOLD STILL, was published to great acclaim (it was even a Morris Award finalist!), and she and her very talented friends (seriously, so jealous of how brilliant they are) did a trailer for that book, too! You can watch it here.
Cut to now (get it? because we’re talking about movies?)—Nina and her friends are going to shoot a HOLD STILL movie! But they need some help, so they’re working on funding the film through Kickstarter. Click the link to learn more about Nina, the book, the cast, and more!
Nina LaCour dishes about the making ofthe trailer for The Disenchantments!
Jess Rothenberg, Nina LaCour, and Stephanie Perkins on the YA or Bust tour! Do we think they dressed alike on purpose? :) (Thanks to Steph, from whose blog I blatantly stole this photo.)
The YA or Bust tour featuring Stephanie Perkins, Gayle Forman, and Nina LaCour starts TODAY at A Great Good Place For Books in Oakland, CA (7 PM)! And, EVEN BETTER, Jessica Rothenberg, author of The Castastrophic History of You and Me, will be joining them for all the Bay Area events! A full list of events is available here.
