Our authors John Green and Judy Blume pose for a picture together at TLA!
Fancy new jackets for The Fault in Our Stars, with the #1 New York Times bestseller call out! And more exciting news, John Green is going to be a Children’s Book & Author Breakfast speaker at Book Expo America this year!
Tell Amazon.com’s Omnivoracious blog! They’re filming a video with him today!
Did you know that Rodrigo Corral, one of the co-creators of Chopsticks, is the same designer that did the already-iconic cover for John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars? Well he is! (No wonder the handwriting looks familiar.) It makes sense, because both The Fault In Our Stars and Chopsticks are special books. Chopsticks is actually very innovative; it’s a textless novel, a haunting, romantic mystery told only in pictures. Not only that, but there will be an app that releases the same day as the physical book, where you can experience the story in several ways—including non-linearly!
If you’re already intrigued and not willing to wait until February 2 (I don’t blame you), you should check out the Chopsticks Tumblr, where we’re rolling out content from the book also in a non-linear way. You get a sneak peek of the book before it even pubs! We’re very excited about Chopsticks, which is really one-of-a-kind.
And now she and Jay can!! Congrats to them both. I hope they’re able to get some privacy with their family to celebrate their child’s birth, and not have to deal with the ridiculous media attention.
It’s Blue Ivy Carter Day, ya’all!!!
What color blue do you think they named her after? Like, TFIOS Blue, or…

Do you love the song used in the trailer for The Fault in Our Stars? Yes, of course you did, duh, I didn’t mean to insult you by asking such an insane question. Well, did you know you can download it for free? But of course! Go to the Penguin Teen Facebook page, click the John Green tab on the left sidebar (this link will take you straight there), then follow the instructions on the page.
Permafrost by Laurena Segura
Sometimes I feel like I am permafrost
Alone in the tundra and really lost
And to think that this is how I feel
Like the ground is melting and nothing’s real
And in the taiga everybody knows
That you shouldn’t wander where the hemlock grows
When the land is vast and the wind blow fast
Will you stay with me if the darkness last?
I know I have nothing to give so may as well give up and live
You say I’m breaking your friends heart
But meanwhile you’re tearing mine apart
So stop asking me if she loves you back
If it’s charm you have then it’s courage you lack
But I want your love and I want it now
I’d ask you for it but I don’t know how
I want to hold you tight and I want to now
I’d say I love you but I don’t know how
It’s done X2
And I remember when we rode the bus
Through the boreal forest and the winter must
I put my head on your shoulder but you moved away
I said I wasn’t tired anyway
And I pretended that I didn’t care
But I hid a few tears behind a lock of hair
And I was tired and I needed sleep
So I swallowed my pride and I changed seat
Again
So I’d rather you make up your mind
A little faster, you’re such a waste of time X2
And you wanted more but you needed less
‘Cause you think that you’re better than the rest
And I wanted less but I needed more
‘Cause you left all I had on the forest floor
And In the mixed forest with the lakes galore
You always left me wanting more
And in the mixed forest with the lakes galore
You left my heart on the forest floor
I know I have nothing to give so may as well give up and live
